The officiating minister was John Edgar. (Of the Reformed Presbytarian Church) \par At this time William lived at Main Street, Bridgeton in Glasgow. \par William and Mary lived in Dalmarnock Road for the birth of Willie. \par The Scottish Records Office has no record of daughter Mary's birth. \par Youngest son John (Jack) was born in January 1876. A family story is that William died "in a hunting accident", which must have occured in 1875. This is incorrect as his death certificate shows he died on the 11 March 1877 in Kelvin, Glasgow, of heart disease. \par From what Betty Chaston recalls her grandmother telling her - "William (or John) was a man of some means". "The McAuslin's had a carriage and were associated with carpets in a prominent way". \par (Medical):Cause of death as deciphered by Pat Churchill. Very difficult to read on the death certificate. It is possible William had suffered rheumatic fever at some stage which could have led to his heart condition.}
